Dr. Opeke is a Houston based International Business Consultant & Strategist with over 19 years of hands-on entrepreneurial expertise. She thrives on creating and expanding sustainable businesses that make a real difference in the lives of people and communities. Driven by a strong sense of purpose and dedication, she continuously leverages her top-notch management skills in fast-paced environments. Dr. Opeke earned her B.Sc. in Geography and M.Sc. in Geographical and Information Systems (GIS) from the prestigious University of Ibadan (UI), Nigeria. Eager for more knowledge, she pursued another M.Sc. in Project Management at Queen Mary University of London in the UK. In 2018, she achieved her doctorate from Walden University in Minnesota, USA, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Organizational Leadership. Holding a certification in PRINCE2, and as a certified John Maxwell coach, speaker, and trainer, she has had the privilege of participating in numerous local and international training sessions and workshops.

As a dynamic strategist and project manager, Dr. Opeke serves as the CEO of Smart Gas, a pioneering tech company based in Nigeria that operates in the downstream gas sector. Under her leadership, Smart Gas has emerged as the premier technology-driven, app-based platform tailored to provide clients with a seamless and efficient method to procure cooking gas from the comfort of their homes. She is also the visionary behind the Smart Gas Foundation (SGF), the philanthropic arm of Smart Gas, a registered 501c3 organization in Houston and Nigeria. Through SGF’s initiatives, thousands of cooking gas cylinders have been distributed to underprivileged communities across Nigeria. Furthermore, SGF spearheads advocacy campaigns promoting the transition from solid fuels to the safe use of cooking gas in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7, showcasing Dr. Opeke’s commitment to social impact and sustainability.

In addition to her role at Smart Gas, Dr. Opeke is the esteemed Founder & CEO of Trade Expo Africa (TEXA), a Houston-based enterprise dedicated to fostering trade of Made in Africa products within African nations and the United States. Since its establishment in 2017, TEXA has orchestrated trade agreements between businesses in Africa and the United States, underscoring her strategic acumen and proficiency in driving profitability. Notably, in June 2022, she launched an eCommerce and warehousing platform in Houston, Texas, a pivotal advancement that bolsters her reputation as a trailblazer in leveraging technology for business advancement.

She unveiled her inaugural publication, “Beyond Her Sexuality, The Strength Within,” in June 2022, a motivational masterpiece crafted to empower women who possess the innate potential to fulfill their divine calling. Acknowledged as a luminary in her field, Dr. Opeke has garnered acclaim from esteemed figures such as Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, State Representative Shawn Thierry, and Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston for her exceptional dedication to fostering trade and investment within the region.

Prior to November 2021, Dr. Opeke held a key executive role at the Texas Africa Chamber of Commerce (TXACC), where she spearheaded strategic initiatives and corporate governance as the Treasurer. Dr. Opeke and her team facilitated robust trade partnerships between Texan enterprises and counterparts in West Africa, hosting distinguished guests such as the Presidents of Guinea and Ghana, multiple Ambassadors, and engaging with various African diplomatic envoys in Washington D.C. Her visionary endeavors have been further recognized through accolades such as the esteemed Amazon of the Year title at the Nigeria Media Nite-Out Awards in September 2021, and The Silverbird Special Achievement Award bestowed by The Silverbird Group in March 2022, among a host of other prestigious honors. Dr. Opeke’s strategic acumen and unwavering commitment to excellence continue to set new standards for leadership and innovation in every endeavor she undertakes.
